An intense, prog-rock journey through a long, sleepless night. "Flight of the Insomniac" examines the paradox of the conflicted mind that desires sleep, but can't achieve it due to anxiety and stress.
The quintessential, breakup-inspired, head-banging garagepunk release of emotions through drums and overdriven amps. "Listen to Your Lies" was later included on the band's self-titled album.
ORIGINALLY RELEASED: MAY 29, 2015
Before Home for the Weekend, our band was known as "D2E" (shortened from Down 2 Earth), a cover band that was founded by drummer Emmett Wood in 2006 as a 6th grader in New Berlin, WI. By 2015 the band's current lineup was in place, and we recorded our first music, a rock opera called "Taboo".
In 2020, we re-recorded and released some of these songs, making them available here on homfortheweekendband.com.
